I can't wait to share my latest big songwriting and video project with you properly, but this is just a little taster!
With my two favourite things mixed together…nature and music - I have been a very happy little singer-songwriter I can tell you! Roaming around in the beautiful English woodlands in the spring time, taking video footage of the incredible surroundings and finding out all about our ancient woodlands from the clever rangers Karen and Michael.
Working with the Lost Woods project this spring and summer has been so inspiring. They are a small project that is part of Action in Rural Sussex. Their aim is to bring together local people of Sussex, to learn about, explore, and care for woods across the Low Weald and Downs.
We joined forces to write some songs to support their work and connect with children and young students in the area. What followed was one of the most rewarding and inspiring experiences I have had as a songwriter.
We will be launching the videos and songs very soon and I will tell you all about our incredible young musicians and songwriters who took part; children, young people and staff from Woodlands Meed School and College in Brgess Hill.
The Songs for Woodlands Project is part of the Lost Woods Programme.
It has been made possible with thanks to players of the National Lottery, via the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
The Lost Woods is a five-year programme (running until Autumn 2027) is made possible with The National Lottery Heritage Fund
