In the summer of 2007 when I had just starting writing children's songs, l was chosen as one of six artist/research residencies at Brighton & Hove Museum & Art Gallery. It was a 6 month project to uncover hidden histories from within the vast collections and interpret the findings in a creative way. The theme was veiled courtship and space - in particular Brighton. I found amazing tales of love/heartbreak/romance/tragedy and as a songwriter was able to weave these histories into songs. This album is a collection of songs all based on amazing true stories, real people, real lives in one of the most unique cities in the UK - my hometown, Brighton.
